I asked my buddy to come over with the hand guards today, I recieved the stock in the mail while i was gone.
he showed up and i put the rifle back together for a dress rehearsal before we have it parkerized again.

I have to say one thing, I think i am enjoying the task of reverting this back to Issue grade than he is lol!

Heres what she is looking like so far and basically what she looked like before i started.
(sported photo stolen from the net just for a reference)
I cant wait to have it parked in gray and see it fully returned from the hands of bubba to Issue grade again. Sweet looking old 30-06!

Thanks!
Only part i have to get is a small brass pin in the forward stock under the barrel band. its missing.
I think a cut down chunk of brass braising rod should do the trick though.

My friend and I will have to get it up to the parkerizing guy soon, he is Tacticalsolutions here and on seattleguns.net

April-1918
Model remington-1917, 30-06
Cant wait to have it 100% again, its a beautiful rifle now.

Also going to try and source an aftermarket NO DRILL scope mount for it, found a few but they are $79 with shipping.
But its worth it to be able to hunt with it and keep it in stock form. going to be awsome when reparkerized and complete.

in the thought of you get what you pay for, i will only mount a nice one on the rifle for him. those ones come loose and are really ugly lol!

My friend likes the ones we found on the net the other day.

He can go aither way, i have weaver rings he can have right here. so its only $56 and shipping for a better mount.

the country shed is the ONLY place to get the high quality mounts like that, i just figured if you wanted to save some money... but sounds like you want it to be top notch, so i would deffinately get it from them... that 42 enfield .303 is on bad looking rifle for being that old huh?
